Pedigree Adoption Day – 20/04/2013
We had a great turn out for the 2013 Pedigree Adotpion Day and were even blessed with Sunshine all day. A big Thank you to Russell Dalton for organising the Day, Super Value, WLR FM, Dial a Dog Wash, City Vets, Billberry – Goat Waterford and all the Waterford SPCA volunteers.
It was great meeting all the oweners and their dogs, super seeing all the former Waterford SPCA dogs again – they are credit to you all.
SUFFERING EQUINES DUE TO STARVATION
Waterford SPCA is deeply concerned with the large increase in equine welfare issues. In the last two weeks the society has dealt with a number of calls involving horses suffering from starvation. These animals were all owned by people and on private property, not abandoned or feral. Many had been suffering long tern neglect, very limited feeding and some even suffering dehydration from lack of water. The society is calling on the public to please be vigilant in the coming weeks when horses are at their most vulnerable due to a long wet winter, no feed now due to scarcity and cost and many have never been wormed.
Please report your concerns to the Waterford SPCA if in our area or to your local or national SPCA.

Our animal pictures by Anne Walsh
The Waterford SPCA Charity Committee would like to offer sincere thanks to Anne Walsh of Woodstock, Coolroe, Portlaw in County Waterford for her pro bono work in taking all of our animal pictures for our records and our website. Without Anne’s continued help and generosity our task of rehoming our animals would be much more difficult.
If you would like to contact Anne re Animal Portraits then please email her at berneseportlaw@eircom.net.
