    Cat in road traffic accident

    https://www.facebook.com/waterfordspca/posts/2764484593818152

Sad news…Our welfare officer attended a call this morning in Tramore. A black and white neutered male cat had been hit by a car and sadly had passed away at the scene of the accident. The accident happened at T.Farrell Suzuki Garage directly across from Tramore Service Station. He is more than likely a pet cat as his ear was not clipped. The deceased cat is now at City Vets and they will hold him in the freezer for a few days to give the owners a chance to recover his body. The cat was not microchipped. We are posting pictures of the deceased cat in the hopes that we reach the poor cat’s owners. For further information please call the office at 051-841432 or City Vets at 051-371155. Thank-you to Tommy Farrell’s Garage for alerting us. RIP Poor cat. Please share to help is reach the owners

Thank-you Freddie, Jonathan and Daniel and all who donated

Freddie, Jonathan and Daniel ran the Virtual Dublin Marathon on October 24th and raised an amazing €867 in much needed funds for the Waterford SPCA. We are extremely grateful to Freddie, Jonathan and Daniel and to all who donated to the fundraiser. Thank-you very much and woof-woof, meow and whinney-whinney from all the animals. The money will be used to support the animals over the winter.

    Happy Hallowe’en Tail

Meet Rufus – the luckiest kitten in Waterford! Rufus was trapped on Hallowe’en evening after 48 hours of cajoling him out of the thicket in which he was sheltering . Too young to be separated from his mother he would not have survived for very long more. Thanks to his new Human Daddy we managed to get him safely indoors before the worst of the storm. Rufus has now been adopted by the people who called Waterford SPCA and we wish him and his wonderful kind new family a happy ever after.
